EN43B Carbon spring steel which is supplied in round bar, hexagon,
flat, and also as spring steel plate and sheet. The plate can be flame
cut to your requirements with normalizing recommended for this spring
steel grade. The bar can be cut to your required lengths. Spring steel
plate and sheet can be flame cut or guillotine cut to your
requirements. Spring steel strip is available in coil, slit and cut to
length. Spring steel, as its name suggests, is most commonly used in
the manufacture of springs. When hardened and tempered (as supplied,
or heat-treated by the customer) it offers excellent spring

Heat treatment temperatures, including the rate of heating, cooling,
and soaking times, etc. will vary due to factors such as the shape and
size of each steel component. Other considerations during the heat
treatment process include the type of furnace, quenching medium, and
workpiece transfer facilities.
Temper the EN43B spring steel component immediately after quenching
whilst tools still hand warm. Re-heat to the tempering temperature
then soak for one hour per 25 millimeters of a total thickness (2
hours minimum) Cool the steel in the air. For most applications
tempering will be between 550-660°C.
